CrowdStrike tech outage disrupts services worldwide
On July 19th, 2024 a global tech outage was caused by by cyber-security firm CrowdStrike. It affected nearly 8.5 million Microsoft devices. Companies worldwide, including airlines, banks, healthcare and media outlets, reported disruptions to their services and operations. In Singapore, services at Changi Airport and Singapore Post were among those affected.
Russian cyber firm Kaspersky is ban in US
It's announced the shutdown of Kaspersky Lab's US operations will start on July 20th 2024, ending nearly two decades of the company operating in the country.
Additionally, from September 29th, 2024 Kaspersky is banned by the U.S. government due to security concerns, making it illegal to sell, integrate, or license any Kaspersky cybersecurity software. U.S. users of Kaspersky will need to switch to alternate security software solutions. We believe this ban will have wider implications on Kaspersky users, also in our region, who can benefit from this
offer.
